VW - the adventurer's survival guide (for those who aren’t very good at surviving or adventuring)
We created a helpful guide for those who spent too much time indoors during lockdown and wanted to come back outside. It covered everything, from sleeping under the stars to making a dignified toilet, adventure 101. But of course, you could simply hop in one of VW’s amazing camper vans and save yourself all this pain. Long copy, even longer jokes. Dream job to write such absurd things. Photography by the grandious Emily Stein.
“Hi. So you want to have an adventure? It’s a great thing we just wrote this guide. How did we know, right? We know stuff. Especially how to get back into nature after a long lockdown. Let’s start.”
CHAPTER 1: SHELTER First, let’s build a shelter. It’s a good idea unless you’re into dying of cold or enjoy becoming a wild bear’s dinner. Grab some branches and some bushes to make a terrible rooftop. By the way, there are no bears in Britain. Sad.”
“CHAPTER 2: FIRE Cut wood, not your hand. Rub dry sticks together until there’s fire. Then panic about the fire. Then, scream about the fire. Then put it off with your shoes, risking your footwear’s integrity. Stand proud”
WARNING: When the panic of the fire ends, direct your attention to your blistered hand from all that dry stick rubbing. It’s probably less painful than Bear bites. But, again, there are no bears in Britain.
Or just skip the pain, and jump into one of these beauties. Have an adventure but sleep comfy. Explore the great outdoors but keep beer in the fridge. Get bored and leave. Love it.
